Bump Brief #25

Bump Brief #25: 33 weeks

These are phone pictures. Honestly, I was too lazy to get out my good camera. Nate just fought me for an hour to nap so all I wanted to do was drink my Dr. Pepper, eat my BBQ chips, write this blog post, and sit on my ass. Sorry not sorry.

How far along? 33 weeks, baby is the size of a...durain!? What the flip is that!?

Total weight gain/loss: 159 today. Up 12lbs from pre-pregnancy weight. 7 more weeks to go!
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: For me, not really. For Nate, not really. For Morgan, not really. For Jason, sleeps like a husband. Jealous. So. jealous.
Best moment this week: MRI and blood work! HA! Just kidding, both of those sucked. I did get a pedicure last week which was amazeballs. I also got my first edible arrangement from a friend!
Preggo Problems: 1. MRI during pregnancy. Holy uncomfortable. 2. Peeing every hour, sometimes more. 3. Being huge.
Movement: Yes. Kicking me in the ribs and hip bones mostly. And, the girl has hiccups a lot. Nate likes to feel the hiccups and giggles. It's super cute.
Food cravings: BBQ chips. Cold drinks. Fruit.  And anything someone else wants to make for me because that is just awesome.
Interesting facts about baby (according to pregnancy app):
1. Eyes are open if she is awake.
2. Bones are hardening.
3.49 days until EDD!
Gender: Girl!! And her name is.....
This was her ultrasound picture at 32 weeks. Weighing about 4lbs. She is looking to be around an 8-9lber at birth. Yikes! Trying to mentally prepare for that.

Labor Signs: Nope.
Belly Button in or out? Depends on her position, mostly out though.
Wedding rings on or off? Off. They need to be re-dipped, but that will have to wait until after our move.
Mood: Still up and down. Nate has been acting up, I can't sleep well, nervous about MRI results, excited that next month Morgan will be here. Next month. Wow. Next month I will be a mother of 2...holy moly.

I didn't write last weeks blog post because I was not feeling great after having some blood work done and a MRI very suddenly. It freaked me out. I have an appointment on Thursday with hopefully the results and good news. Morgan is FINE! She is doing well. The MRI and blood work is to check on the cyst they found at 20 weeks in more detail. It is growing(size of a cantaloupe). Send your positive vibes my way for good results! I will update next week with the outcome and any information I get from the doctor.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Bump Brief #24

Bump Brief #24: 31 weeks

Excuse the frumpy look. I did take a shower, but I was back in comfy clothes. The day was full of laundry and cleaning with no intention of seeing the public.

How far along? 31 weeks, baby is the size of a...forget the fruit. Feels like a watermelon or bowling ball. I'm going to start my own sizes. Fruit and veggie comparisons. It's gotta stop. I will determine what size baby is now. Muhahaha! And yay to single digits weeks left! 9 weeks to go!

Total weight gain/loss: 158 today. Up 2lbs from last week. I guess my scale is not broken. Pre pregancy weight was 147, so total gain so far is 11lbs.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: I may have to delete this one, too. Sleep is not great. I don't think it will get better. When I get to write about my sleep I feel like it is rubbing it in my face that it's not going to happen. For a very long time. Sleep is a thing of the past. It's time to mentally prepare myself for it.
Best moment this week: We went camping again! In a cabin. The bed was still horrible, but other than that I had a blast. This time we went with our friends. It is so fun to see our little toddlers camp, play, get dirty. Of course we ate horrible and I loved it. S'mores...yes, please!
Preggo Problems: 1. No sleep 2. Feel the need to nest and organize, but can't. 3. My boobs are leaking and I have let down feelings. So strange. Good because I want to breastfeed again, but I didn't leak pre-baby with Nate.
Movement: I am trying to get a video of this little girl on video, but she is so stubborn! I hope she isn't camera shy, that just won't work for me and this picture loving girl.
Food cravings: BBQ chips. Cold drinks. Fruit.
Interesting facts about baby (according to pregnancy app):
1.  Baby's neck is very flexible, which allows it to turn its head freely. Um...exorcist baby? Creepy!
2. Braxton Hicks may increase since baby is growing.
3. 63 days until EDD!
Gender: Girl!! And her name is.....

Labor Signs: Nope.
Belly Button in or out? Out-ish. It's more out than in. Through a shirt it looks out.
Wedding rings on or off? Off again. I cleaned my rings and tried again. Now my finger is irritated. Boo.
Mood: It seriously changes everyday. Today I feel full of energy. Yesterday I was exhausted. Last Thursday I was PISSED at the world because I under cooked hard boiled eggs that I was making for Jason's work function. Like irrationally pissed. I went to bed at 8:45.

Nate is going to be such a good big brother. It is weird that in just 2 months we will have 2 little humans to take care of. I know I will love them both, but the thought of sharing myself with Nate, Jason, Morgan and myself has me a little terrified.

Bump Brief #17

Bump Brief #17: 24 weeks

How far along? 24 weeks, baby is the size of a small cantaloupe! 6 MONTHS!!!
Total weight gain/loss: The pounds are packing on now. 150 as of this morning. +3lbs. Not sure if it is all the Oreos I ate or the baby. Probably a combination of both.
Stretch marks? Nothing new.
Sleep: Better this week. I forgot to mention last week the dreams nightmares I've been having. I've the same bad dreams where Nate is drowning and the baby girl is kidnapped. Different scenarios, different nights, but each time Nate is in water and someone is taking the baby. What the EFF!? Definitely don't sleep well on those nights. In the past 2 weeks, I've had that nightmare 4-5 times. Not cool.
Best moment this week: We picked and finalized a name!!
Miss Anything? Being able to bend over comfortably. I had a splinter this week which was a bitch to get out and shaving my legs is now a task.
Movement: Moving more and more. Still mostly at night, but I can feel her in the daytime now. I think in the daytime I was doing stuff and not paying attention much to feel, but they are stronger now to feel while being busy. It feels like she is standing straight up and down...punching my ribs and stomping on the bladder at the same time. Think of Mario jumping up to punch a brick to get a coin. That's what it feels like.
Food cravings: Sushi and strawberry milk. Not together. And no, I haven't had any.
Interesting facts about baby (according to pregnancy app):
1. Skin is turning more pink due to the appearance of capillaries.
2. Baby is about 1-1 1/2lbs!
3. Taste buds are forming.
Gender: Girl!! And her name is.....

Morgan means "sea". Emily means "to strive or excel". Emily is after a woman in my life that has been there for me since the day I was born. She is not blood related. She is just one of those people in this world that are truly selfless, generous, hardworking, kind, and the perfect "grandma". If our daughter can possess any of the qualities she has, she will be a wonderful girl. Thank you, Emi, for being my grandma.
Emi and me as a baby

 Emi and Nate

Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In, it might pop out this pregnancy though.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Good! Getting out of my funk I was in last week. I am tired and slightly uncomfortable(my back hurts), but mood is MUCH better! Happy!

Pictures this morning were in bed enjoying my morning coffee. Happy Monday!!

Bump Brief #16

Bump Brief #16: 23 weeks

How far along? 23 weeks, baby is the size of a bunch of grapes!
Total weight gain/loss: I have officially hit pre-pregnancy weight. Now weighing in at 147.
Stretch marks? Nothing new.
Sleep: Not great this week. Heartburn has also started. I had heartburn with Nate, but not until the 8-9th months. I haven't broke out the Tums yet, but if it keeps up I may need to take some at night. Unless other people have some suggestions on battling heartburn!?
Best moment this week: Jason felt the baby kick from the outside...FINALLY! She kicked him hard, too.
Miss Anything?  Being able to read books with Nate on my lap without having to warn him to be careful. He likes to jump on me and lay right in the middle and it is starting to hurt. I feel bad that he wants to cuddle and read, but I have to adjust him and remind him to be gentle.
Movement: Night owl. She also likes to move while Nate and I read bedtime stories.
Food cravings: Jason got me a ton of treats for Valentine's day so my sweet tooth is satisfied. Not craving anything in particular this week.
Interesting facts about baby (according to pregnancy app):
1. baby is becoming more capable of controlling its own body temperature.
2. baby can feel mommy move and dance.
3. baby's muscles have developed enough that it can move in a variety of directions.
Gender: Girl!! We have not yet decided on a name yet.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In, it might pop out this pregnancy though. It didn't with Nate, but it is looking strange and a bit more flat.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Meh. This week was really blah. Jason wasn't feeling well, Nate woke up not feeling well, I didn't sleep, heartburn. It wasn't horrible. Just blah. Hoping i can get out of this little funk this week! I really have no reason to complain or have a blah week which is another reason why it's so frustrating I feel like this!

Pictures today were not going to happen. I haven't showered, Nate was up super early coughing with a runny nose. i was just going to post a google image and call it a day. But I sucked it up. A whole 3 pictures. Not sure if you can see spots on both my shirt and yoga pants, but if you can...it's Nate's boogers. #momlife. Yes, I have changed. Into pajama shorts. I'm sure there will be more boogers once Nate wakes up from nap. I decided to post these because this is what it is like being a mom. It's real. It's sometimes gross. But there is a sweet little girl in my belly and I knew I would've regretted not having the picture.

Bump Brief #15

Bump Brief #15: 22 weeks

How far along? 22 weeks, baby is the size of a spaghetti squash!
Total weight gain/loss: Up 1 more pound this week. -1!
Stretch marks? I've been applying my lotion, hopefully it works until the end.
Sleep: Good. Belly is getting bigger and a tad bit more uncomfortable. Might be time to use a body pillow.
Best moment this week: Valentine's Day! My amazing husband got me some of my favorite treats so I was a happy preggo mama. He also got me a pineapple platter as a Hawaii keepsake. Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky to have such a wonderful man. Provider, hard-working, supportive, caring, and just an all around great guy. The fact that he will be a father to both kids makes me realize how happy I am to be his wife and get the privilege to watch him interact and raise our children.
Miss Anything?  It is getting harder to carry Nate. He is getting bigger and so am I. I get winded pretty quick if I hold him.
Movement: Still mostly at night. I have tried to get Jason to feel her, but of course, we have another stubborn Kappes on our hands.
Food cravings: Ribs and corn on the cob. It's what's for dinner tonight and I am super excited.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not this week!
Interesting facts about baby (according to pregnancy app): Added this since I deleted if I was wearing maternity clothes. So here are some interesting facts about baby girl:
1. Vital organs are almost fully developed.
2. Baby's eyes are formed, but lacks color.
3. Tiny tooth buds are developing under gums.
Gender: Girl!! We have not yet decided on a name yet.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Better than last week. I have definitely calmed down since my bad experience with the ultrasound tech. Don't get me wrong, I am still worried. I have an appointment with the midwives in 2 weeks so I am interested in what they say about the placenta and cyst. Oh, I also got a couple new pairs of maternity pants from Goodwill and Old Navy. It is amazing what some new, fitting maternity pants can do for a mood.
There are the Old Navy jeans I got...

We went to the park and took pictures today. The lighting was horrible since we were there mid day, but I still like them. I finally got Jason to get in a few, too. Thank you, again, self-timer.
