Hello, March!
Whatever happened to predictability? The milk man, the paper boy, the evening TV?
Just kidding...I'm watching Fuller House. Now you can go back and sing ^^ Go ahead, you know you want to...
Besides binge watching Fuller House, I'm drinking decaf coffee. With cream. I'm eating Erdbeer Joghurt and Biscoff(Thanks to one of my best friends!), and Thin Mints(Thanks to my hubby!). Paleo February is O-ver!!! And the kids are in bed. Mom winning right here.
To be honest, Paleo month wasn't too horrible. I had a few cheats so I wasn't crazy strict. Maybe...90% paleo 10% non-paleo. A few things about Paleo month. I started to actually like veggies. Like...raw veggies. You read that right. Raw. Dipped in hummus. Veggies and hummus might be my favorite lunch right now and even though Paleo month is over, I plan to continue eating a lot of veggies for lunch. I also didn't miss bread and cheese as much as I thought I would. What did I miss? Dr. Pepper and coffee. I tried drinking hot tea, but there is no comparison. Coffee is my jam.
So what is going on this month!? My resolution this month is to blog everyday, even if it is only one sentence or a picture. I'm hoping I can keep up because this month is busy. We have a lot of visitors coming, which is exciting, but hard to blog while they are here. Hell, it's hard to keep up blogging when I actually have time. And I turn 31 this month so I may or may forget to blog a day or two due to old age. So don't judge me.
Other news. My awesome husband got promoted, Nate is doing MUCH better at school, and Morgan is sleeping MUCH better. My little family is pretty much doing awesome. We are also prepping for our next move. I still don't even really feel settled in Kansas so I am in this internal debate of trying to make Kansas feel like home, but also distance myself and prepare to start packing.
I hope everyone is doing well! And since I'll be bugging you everyday all month, let me know if there is anything you want me to write about!

I'm Alive and Awesome!
It is amazing how life can take over. Even some things you love to do can take the back burner. There are so many little past times I enjoy, but never get to take the time to do them for myself. Yes, for myself.
Since becoming a mom it seems as if I am being selfish to do anything for myself. It is my job now to take care of another human being. This tiny human relies on my for everything. Not that it is a bad thing, obviously, I signed up for the job. This new job has ridiculous hours, no days off, and very few breaks. It is completely insane and satisfying at the same time. It teaches patience, love, and understanding. It gives you a sense of purpose. With all that said, I realized I need to "work" on myself.
I have realized I have many "jobs", myself being one of them. I not only have to take care of my little human, but I need to take care of my other half, as well as, myself. Myself. Me. Jennifer. I am still Jennifer. Jason always tells me I need to take breaks, that he can help. He says he can watch Nate while I nap. There is such a difference between hearing words and actually believing them. I now believe him. It has taken a long time, but the words have meaning now.
I'm not exactly sure how this change happened. It was as if just one day I woke up and had the sudden urge to make a drastic change. Jason and I had been discussing eating healthier and getting a gym membership. When I got back from a 3 week trip from California my mind was set. Gym membership activated and the next grocery trip was full of healthy items.
It's been 1 month since my change. My modification. My revision of life. I have lost 7lbs, LOVE the classes at the gym, meal plan with healthy foods, Nate has been sleeping better, and I just feel better! I've started doing little things I used to do, such as, paint my nails, take a nap, read, just have some Jenn-time....maybe even blog more!
As I type, I am enjoying a glass of wine, watching a movie, and know my sleeping little human is in his crib dreaming. The day was busy and crazy, but I did my job. The job duties never end and that's okay. I just need to remember I am still Jennifer, not just "mommy".
I wrote this post as a reminder to myself, but also to everyone else who needs it.. Believe the words. Take the time for yourself. Enjoy whatever makes you happy. You can be a mom, or whatever job you do, and (insert name here) simultaneously. You can. Believe it and do it.

Happy May!!
Well hello May, you just snuck right up on me! I can't believe we are in the 5th month of 2013!
It is FINALLY feeling like Spring/Summer here in Iowa...took long enough! The parks have been so nice to go to and Nate loves to go on walks and be outside.
This post is going to be a little all over the place because I have just written 2 other blog posts for Quad City Moms Blog for this Friday, did the dishes, washed diapers, went to a consignment store and Burlington, took out the trash, made lunch, had coffee, changed 4 diapers, and thought about upcoming events happening in the Kappes household. I didn't think I was going to get to my blog, but Nate is taking a nap so I am trying to type fast and rock his rocky chair at the same time. I've learned to multi-task and do a lot of things one-handed. Not sure if I should brag about that...
Anyways, I hope everyone is having a great day and I'm hoping I can keep up more with my blog posts. This past month we went to Chicago for the Cubs vs. Giants game, Emi came to visit, and Kim and Savannah came to visit. It's been a fun and busy month! Bring on May...well, I guess we have no choice.
